PIPEWORK BY NICK FRASER

New Pipework coat racks by London product designer Nick Fraser.  The powder-coated copper pipes are saturated in fresh pastel shades referencing the Memphis design group.  The palette cleverly juxtaposes the industrial appearance of exposed pipes.  Love them.  Find more of Nick's work here, Nick Fraser Design.

KAREN WALKER

Selection from Karen Walker's American Girl collection, A/W 12.  I've added colour slices to show proportions/palettes & how well the brights are balanced with neutrals & rich navies.  Yes please!

COPPER POP

I've been picking up that copper is pretty hot right now.  Not sure what I think, I suppose it can either look awful or amazing.  Above are examples of the latter.

{1. Copper Shades, Tom Dixon; 2. Cushion, Selfridges; 3. The Great Gatsby, Penguin; 4. Teapot, Bijzonder Mooi; 5. Grid Vase Cylindrical, Jaime Hayon via here; 6. C2 Copper Wall Mirror, The Andes House; 7. Copper Bistro Chair, Anthropologie}

LAURA CARLIN

British illustrator Laura Carlin has turned her deft hands to ceramics.  She's just added these to her blog and I believe will be holding a sale towards the end of the year.  I think I've been good enough to deserve at least three bowls.

COLLAR

JUNYA WATANABE as far as I can tell.  Found here.

KIRATH GHUNDOO

Wallpaper by Kirath Ghundoo.  She exhibited at 100% Design in September & I can vouch that not only is the work more beautiful close up, but she is also a very good egg.

DAZZLE CAMOUFLAGE

Dazzle camouflage was used in both World Wars as a confusion tactic against enemy rangefinders.  The striking patterns made it difficult to determine the speed, heading, size & type of ship.  British marine painter Norman Wilkinson invented the concept & tested his pattern designs on little model ships viewed through a periscope in his studio.  Can I please have one of the little model ships?

OLD DELHI STREET SNACKS

Always unexpected, delicious, cheap AND exciting to hunt down, Old Delhi street food was one of my favourite things about the city.  Cardamom biscuits {3} cooked on a hot griddle strapped to a little cart, spicy potato Bedmi {4} served with semolina Nagori for breakfast, and heavenly whipped milk froth topped with nutty sweet crumbly stuff called Daulat Ki Chaat {1}.  I have Pamela Timms and her blog Eat and Dust to thank for my greedy good times around Delhi.

1. Daulat Ki Chaat   2. Ram Ladoo   3. Nan Khatai   4. Bedmi Aloo (plus Halwa Nagori)
